We affirm that there is one Almighty Heavenly Father who is above all, and to whom we owe our reverence and worship.
In Deuteronomy 6:4, we find, "Hear, O Israel: Yahweh is our Elohim, Yahweh is one:"
In verse 13, we find: "You shall fear Yahweh your Elohim; and him you shall serve, and shall swear by his name."
Deuteronomy 6:13 is quoted by our Savior, Yahshua the Messiah, after he was baptized and was being tempted by the devil in Matthew chapter 4. Satan the devil tries to get Yahshua to fall down and worship him by tempting him with all the kingdoms of the world. Yahshua, being filled with the Holy Spirit, and with wisdom, resists the devil by quoting Deuteronomy 6:13. It is enlightening to note that Yahshua resists the devil using the Sacred Scriptures- the law- on all three occasions recorded in Matthew chapter 4, and is victorious.
